My Blog's New Twitter Account Suspended

Dead Twitter Bird
So, a couple days ago I made a new Twitter account just for Kittenish Beauty: @kittenishbeauty. Yesterday, it got suspended.

I contacted Twitter immediately to contest it and am awaiting a response. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I was trying to move any blog- and beauty-related contacts over to the new account, and I think I added too many too quickly and that's what got my Twitter account flagged. Oops.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and I hope to get this sorted out as quickly as possible.

My Super Awesome Perfume Collection

Okay, the perfume collection isn't really that awesome, but I think the photo of it is!

I took the photo for a perfume contest. I didn't make the finals =(

I'm actually quite sad about that.

The perfumes are (in no particular order): Japanese Cherry Blossom (BBW), Amber Romance (VS), Crabtree & Evelyn Vanilla, Ylang Ylang (Cream Perfume Company), Be Kissable (Avon), Vanilla Musk, Dark Vanilla, Vanilla Fields, Dream Angels Heavenly (VS), Harajuku Lovers Love.

You should check out the finalists for the perfume contest. There are some cute photos in there.

I really wanted a chance to try the "I Heart Unicorns" perfume. It sounds so fun! It's nearly impossible for me to drop $50+ on a bottle of perfume that may not work for me, though (especially since I don't have $50+). =/

Me and my guy worked hard to get that photo just right. It would have been nice to at least make it to the finals.

Also, I might as well mention that this perfume collection isn't really complete... there's a bunch of perfume that's either 28 hours away at my parents' house or in the mail on its way to me.

Anyway, I'd love to hear your opinions of my photo (even if they're negative). Cheer me up or give me some idea of why it's not a winner. Please be commentful!

Groundbreaking Report from the Field

So, I have... almost interesting news. I have finally decided... !

... to make a badge.

Yes, my blog now has a badge. Nothing earth shattering, just a little button that shares the same theme as my blog.

I probably should have done this a long time ago, but really my blog was just such a little thing that it didn't seem necessary. It's probably still not necessary, but dangit I want my blog to have a badge. It makes it official.

(Makes what official? I have no idea.)

Blogger Outage

Blogger is driving me nuts. It was down forEVER, and now that it's back a whole lot of comments I made on other blogs are missing.

I'm hoping it's not permanent, but so far the staff hasn't answered anyone's questions about the comments. They keep saying missing posts will be restored, but there hasn't been any mention of the fate of missing comments.

I guess I'll have to assume that comments will be restored. The last thing I want to do is go through the time-consuming task of rewriting all the missing comments only to have the comments be restored and then boom! Duplicate comments everywhere.

I hope everyone will be understanding about this issue.

UPDATE: The Blogger Team recently stated on Twitter that missing comments will be restored over the weekend. Yay!

My Lip Stuff Lip Balms Review

A while back, I won a set of My Lip Stuff lip balms through a Sugar Pop Ribbons giveaway. Well, I figured it was about time I share how much I love these balms!

My Lip Stuff Lip Balms Review ♥

I received six flavors: Blackberry, Dulce de Leche, Chocolate Raspberry, Caramel Apple, Maple Cream, and Carrot Cake. So far I've only gone through the Maple Cream and Carrot Cake balms, and they were wonderful!

Ingredients: Sunflower Oil, Beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Castor Oil, Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil, Aloe Vera, Essential &/or Flavor Oil.

My Lip Stuff Lip Balms are so soft and creamy! A perfect, smooth texture. At first swipe, my lips are moisturized and slick. Over time, the balm melts into my lips and leaves behind no waxy residue. It's like applying oil to my lips.

I love that I can apply My Lip Stuff Lip Balms as much as I want and I'm never left with any white layers of product at the corners of my lips.

Since balms and glosses go on my lips, taste is important to me. I can't stand products that taste nasty. Luckily, these lips balms smell and taste wonderful!

I highly recommend My Lip Stuff Lip Balms. With over 500 flavors to choose from, there's bound to be at least one you'll want to try. It's available in a tube ($2.50) or pot ($3.50), and there are also lip glosses, an unflavored lip tint, a lip balm for men, and more! Plus there are skin products and Do-It-Yourself Lip Balm kits.

For those vegans out there, My Lip Stuff has a series of lip balms with Candelilla Wax instead of Beeswax.

My Lip Stuff Lip Balm Flavors

I'm going to keep lists of flavors I like, flavors I don't like, and flavors I'm interested in. I'll try to remember to keep the lists up-to-date as I try new My Lip Stuff Lip Balms in the future.

Before I tell you which flavors I enjoyed and didn't enjoy, you should know a little about my personal tastes:

I like strawberry, cherry, fruit, mint, cinnamon, spice, cream, sugar, and vanilla flavors in lip balms. I enjoy lip balms that tingle.

I do not like raspberry, cucumber melon, or chocolate flavors (I love to eat chocolate, but I don't enjoy it in lip products).

I'm so-so on coffee and cola flavors in lip balms.

Flavors I like:
  • Carrot Cake
  • Maple Cream

Flavors I won't get again:
  • Chocolate Raspberry

Wet n Wild MegaEyes Defining Marker Review and Photos

My hands aren't very steady, and I have almost no experience with applying makeup. But, I am interested in tightlining my eyes. And an eyeliner marker seems like the best way to do that. So, I picked up a product that got good reviews on Makeup Alley

The Wet n Wild MegaEyes Defining Marker. It was only $3.99. I've tried ELF's Eyeliner Pen, and it was completely dried up when I opened it. I never got a single use out of that one.

Well, I tried to line my eyes with the Wet n Wild Marker, and I wasn't seeing anything at all. So I drew a heart on the back of my hand to test it out.

Can you see it? Just barely, right? That's because the tip of the marker was almost completely dried out.

I drew a line on my hand with the side of the marker, to make the test complete.

The side of the marker still had ink. But I can't line my eyes with the side of the marker. And I do mean can't.

Anyway, the whole point of an eyeliner marker is to be able to use the fine tip to line eyes without the mess of liquid liner. If the tip can't be used to line eyes, the product is useless.

So, I wasn't able to line my eyes with this marker even once. The Wet n Wild MegaEyes Defining Marker is a total fail.

My search for a good eyeliner marker continues…

Trim Ergo Foot Paddle Review

I recently noticed that my heels had become rather rough. I went to Walmart with the intention of getting a pumice stone, but then I saw this.

The Trim Ergo Foot Paddle. It's much nicer to look at than a pumice stone, with its frosted contoured handle and pink ceramic surfaces.

The paddle has a coarse surface for calluses and a fine surface for smoothing rough skin. The surfaces sparkle a little, like crystal.

After the first time I used it in the shower, the rough peeling skin on the bottom of my heels was gone. I do a quick session with it on my feet each time I shower. My feet get a bit softer each time.

I really like the Trim Ergo Foot Paddle. It's easy to handle, it's nice to look at, and it does its job.

This Week's Haul

Here's what I've bought recently.

I needed a pumice stone, but I saw this at Walmart and liked it more: the Trim Ergo Foot Paddle. It's pretty!

The Argan Magic products are getting great reviews, so I went to a nearby CVS and picked up a bottle of the Argan Magic Intensive Hair Oil.

I saw the Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Intense Cleanse Shampoo and wanted to try it out. It has little scrubby beads to "purify hair and scalp." I'm hoping it'll be good for exfoliating.

The Skin MD Natural lotions finally showed up at a nearby Walgreens (2 of the 20 nearby Walgreens had the Shielding Lotion, and 1 of the 20 had the Lotion with SPF 15). So, I picked up both types: Shielding Lotion and Shielding Lotion + Sunscreen SPF 15.

Only one of the ten nearby Target stores has the Shea Moisture Organic African Black Soap haircare. I picked up the Dandruff & Scalp Elixir and the Deep Cleansing Shampoo (because the Garnier Fructis Shampoo's exfoliating beads have failed to impress me so far). They smell lovely!

Seriously, between the Skin MD Natural lotions and the Shea Moisture haircare, why are the products I want so difficult to find??

Anyway, I also have the new[ish] Suave Dry Shampoo Spray. I don't remember when I picked that up, but it wasn't long ago. I haven't tried it out yet.

That pink heart on a stick is the Hard Candy Shimmer Puff. Isn't it cute? (^_^)

I bought a pretty glass nail file at Walgreens for 99 cents.

I've already started using the Wet n Wild Megalash Serum, so in a little less than four weeks I'll get to find out if it works for eyelashes like mine.

I'm a lip balm lover, so when I saw the Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm I just had to try it. I picked it up in Sunny Berry, which is nice and natural looking. However, I'm not a fan of the cucumber melon scent.

I was happy to see the elf Cream Eyeliner at Target. I picked it up in Plum Purple and Gunmetal. They also had one elf Makeup Mist & Set (just one), and I love face mists, so I grabbed that, too.

The lip gloss at the bottom is Rimmel Moisture Renew SPF 15 in Cherry Boost. The packaging says it contains Collagen and vitamins A, C, and E.

Last is the Wet n Wild Megaeyes Defining Marker in Blackest Black.

Burt's Bees Just Says 'No' to Waste

I recently received an update from Burt's Bees:

Imagine a world without landfills. It’s a beautiful dream and we hope to help make it a reality. We’ve successfully eliminated landfill waste from our facilities as of this Earth month (April 2010). There is a lovely empty space where our dumpster used to sit. Learn more about our journey to zero landfill waste.

Sending zero waste to landfill seemed impossible three years ago when we were just recycling paper, plastic, glass and aluminum. But, we’ve come along way in reducing our waste and finding another life for just about everything. In every corner of our office and plant, you’ll find a five or six-bin waste-sorting station.

Our favorite bin is the compost bin and it’s where we put the most. In fact, 300 tons of material has been composted rather than sent to landfill since March of 2008. We love it because it becomes rich soil that helps gardens grow. If we can’t compost or recycle something, it goes to a waste-to-energy facility, where it’s used instead of coal to run cement kilns. Then the ash is used to make cinder blocks. We think materials should have an extended life rather than sit in the ground or under the ocean.

- Burt's Bees, "Zero Waste to Landfill," July 2010

Visit the link for the full article and a video.

Reading something like this makes me happy. While so many companies pollute and waste without remorse, some companies do care.

While sending zero waste to landfills seems like a daunting and impossible task, Burt's Bees has proven it can be done. Hopefully more comapnies will follow in their footsteps.

Clothes Shopping

I know it's been a while. Lately I've been clothes shopping. I hated shopping for clothes as a kid, and I'm still not fond of it, though my reasons for it have changed.

Sometimes I find cool stuff, but usually the stuff I really want disappears before I can get it. I'm usually an XS, sometimes Small items fit, but XS and Small are always the first sizes to sell out. I'll never understand: XS and Small sell quickest, so why doesn't the company send more Extra Smalls and Smalls to their stores? I can't count the number of times I haven't been able to buy something because they didn't have my size. Don't the stores want my money?

Anyway, I'll try to post up some of the clothes I've bought and stuff soon. Hopefully people are still reading this blog despite my sometimes-long absences. *^.^*
